In May I joined the Me Made May challenge #MMMAY16. Me Made May is a challenge run in May each year to encourage people who enjoy sewing, knitting, crocheting etc. to wear what they make and be proud of it. There is more information about the founder and the challenge on So, Zo…what do you know?
I pledged to wear something different everyday for the whole month…I knew I had enough clothes, but so many of them I had never worn, (or only worn a few times). It was a daunting idea to not only wear my own creations for a whole month, but share them on social media. By the end of the month, I was loving it…I was wearing new clothes, starting conversations on facebook, getting followers on instagram and posting pictures of myself daily. I wasn’t very comfortable with this idea to begin with, but I got so much encouragement and support it actually became easier everyday. All of these were postivies from the challenge, but I think the biggest positive for me was to gain confidence in what I had made. I was able to wear some of my amazing creations and relive the stories connected to them and share those memories and stories with others.
Bring it on next May!
